Data Verification
The accuracy of data decays over time, this is more relevant with B2B data than B2C data due to the dynamic nature of businesses. Employees move between companies and change function within companies on a regular basis. And although data suppression processes can help correct some of the inaccuracies, it can not fix them all.
Note - it is a requirement under the data protection act that all data controllers ensure that the data they hold is accurate and up to date.
-
If mail is inaccurately addressed, your mail piece may be undelivered or returned, wasting print, production and postage costs.
-
May increase the delivery time to correct address/department, potentially missing key dates for time specific marketing campaigns.
-
Can adversely effect company's reputation and brand.
-
In extreme cases could lead to a complaint to the Information Commissioner.
The Solution
We have a number of options to address this problem
-
Include feedback form either with another mailing you are undertaking or within a separate mailing for this purpose.
-
Email/fax campaign to mailing list, again either for this specific purpose or tied in with another communication.
-
Provide a web-based portal to enable your contacts to update their details themselves.
